NBGH Conference - 2010, September

Visual Intelligence, LLC founders Dan Rider and Cristian Ilie were featured speakers at the National Business Group on Health (NBGH) 2010 National Conference on Health, Productivity, and Human Capital, Innovative Solutions for the Reset Economy in Washington, DC. The Visual Intelligence founders participated on a key discussion panel addressing the success and future of the NBGH EMPAQ program which collects raw and aggregate data from large self-insured employers and creates comparative benchmark metrics at the NAICS level. Data is collected on Long Term Disability (LTD), Short Term Disability (STD), Workers’ Compensation (WC), Group Health (GH), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Absenteeism (ITA), and Health Management Programs (HM). According to Dan Rider, founder and General Manager, “the new EMPAQ design greatly simplified how members submitted data for inclusion in the benchmarks. In 2010 we almost tripled the total submissions from the previous year.. This alone greatly improves the accuracy and quality of the information provided.”

In addition, Cristian Ilie, Founder and Chief Scientist for Visual Intelligence spoke about the future of EMPAQ and the impact advanced analytics and data visualization will have on the next generation of EMPAQ users. According to Ilie, “the quality and volume of data collected in EMPAQ can lead to not only to a realistic understanding of an employer’s costs and utilization compared to industry and regional peers and open new research opportunities, but will also drive new insights into the specific drivers to improve overall cost and improve workforce productivity.”
